The generator puzzle opens Chapter 12, Richard: Getting Inside, in the CEG HQ parking lot. Take the Generator Key from the cabinet behind the door of the Manager's Office, upstairs in the second building on the left. At the back of the generator, turn only the right lever so it sits diagonally; the left and middle levers stay vertical. Then put the key in the slot on the right of the front panel and pull the red lever on the left. The generator powers the construction elevator into the tower.

Getting the Generator Key
- Go left of the CEG HQ front entrance into the small security booth and press the button to open the gate.
- Enter the second building on the left of the parking lot through its garage door.
- Go upstairs and left into the Manager's Office. The Generator Key is in the cabinet behind the door.
- Construction Halted Notice, CEG Kiosk Note and CEG Memo are documents in the lot. After the generator is running, the computer in the first building has two emails, and a locker at the other end of that room opens with 147.
Starting the generator
- Walk round to the back of the generator. Turn the right lever until it sits diagonally. Leave the left and middle levers vertical.
- Go back to the front panel and place the Generator Key in the slot on the right.
- Pull the red lever on the left. The generator starts and the construction elevator gets power.
- Take the elevator into the tower. Chapter 13 starts on the 2nd floor, where the Shotgun is added to your inventory.

- You moved the left or middle lever: put both back to vertical
- The red lever does nothing: the key is not in the slot on the right of the front panel
