Simon Ordell is the main character of Silent Hill: Townfall, voiced by Jovan Adepo. He is the independent safety inspector who was the only survivor of the fire on CEG's SWDP oil rig, and he wakes on the shore of St. Amelia with an IV line in his arm and no memory of how he got there. You play as him for most of the game, using the CRTV as map, radar and puzzle tool. Spoiler: to survive he accepted a heart transplant from CEG's CEO, Richard, on the condition that he lie at the tribunal.

How Simon plays
You see the game through Simon's eyes in first person. His CRTV picks up signals that reveal enemies through walls and fog, unlock narrative logs and feed puzzle clues, and tuning all of them earns Sweeping Signals.
His medical condition is also a mechanic. At low health, his IV bag lets him survive one otherwise fatal hit. Refilling it after dying costs 4 points toward the ending, which ties his survival to the story's question of what his life cost.
Most of the hidden ending score comes from Simon: his kills, his discoveries and his deaths. Zoe's surgery mistakes in Chapter 7 also count, but Richard's kills in Part 5 do not.

Who Simon really is (spoilers)
Simon was brought in from the US after a whistleblower raised concerns about the SWDP rig. Shortly after he arrived, the rig caught fire, and he was the only one on it who survived. He was there to protect the workers and failed, and his survivor's guilt is built around the number of the dead.
Zoe kept him alive for more than five days until he was airlifted to the mainland. His damaged heart needed a transplant, and Richard Shaw paid for it. The condition: tell the tribunal that the dead engineer Joe McKenzie was at fault. Simon agreed, then began to doubt it. That doubt is the whole game.
The Weight, the boss that stalks him, is read as his own guilt: VGTimes sees the three rods you pull from it in the final fight as survivor's guilt, the deal with Richard and the betrayal of his job.
Is Simon dead?
He survives the rig fire. What happens next depends on the ending. In Justice he refuses to lie, and Richard stabs him in his hospital bed: Simon dies, but the town gets the truth. In Forever he collapses clutching his heart and wakes back at the start of the loop. In Abandoned he kills Richard, and the loop does not end.
