Where the X-ray room code comes from

You start Chapter 7 as Zoe in Surgery, with Dr. Glenn giving orders over the intercom. Answer the monitor readings first. Once that is done, a number arrives on your pager: 7103. That is the code for the door on the right of the Surgery room, which leads to the X-ray room.

The code is fixed rather than random, and you use it again as Simon in Chapter 8, when the same door in Medical Center – Different opens with 7103.

X-ray settings: skull, then chest

The values come from the X-Ray Dosage Table on the laptop beside the bed. The scan will not run until the alignment message is showing and the settings match, so if nothing happens, check the camera position before the numbers.

1. 1Turn on the computer in the X-ray room, zoom in and move the camera up until "Patient Skull – Aligned" is at the top of the screen.
2. 2On the panel to the left set POWER on, SITE Skull, kV 3, mA 7 and Time 1, then press the green button at the bottom right.
3. 3Move the camera down until "Patient Chest – Aligned" is at the top.
4. 4Set SITE Chest, kV 7, mA 3 and Time 1.2, then press the green button.
5. 5Take the Head and Chest X-rays from the printer right of the computer.
6. 6Back in Surgery, put both films on the board left of the intercom, then select the head and the chest when prompted.

The three pumps and the Records Room

1. 1Tensobromide: at the end of the Victoria Ward ground-floor hallway, in the green medical box in the Pharmacy Store.
2. 2Chapman Ward, first floor: the second email on the desk computer, "Dailies – Infusion Status", marks the infusions on your map. Read "Dailies – Records Room Code" on the board left of the computer in the top-left office, then take Dextracyclate from the infusion machine in Bay 6.
3. 3Records Room, top-left corner of the Chapman Ward ground floor: enter 2605 and take Hydroxalene from the green medical box in the cabinet.
4. 4Back in Surgery, use the third column of the Medication Dosage Table on the laptop, which matches the 88 kg weight on the whiteboard. For each pump press SET RATE, enter the rate, press the check mark, then READY PUMP: Dextracyclate 15, Hydroxalene 7, Tensobromide 8.
5. 5Start the pumps from the small console left of the bed.

Extension 5353 and the intubation

The chapter ends here and The Patient unlocks.

The Medical Centre phone puzzle from Chapter 5

1. 1Dr. Glenn gives you extension 5353, Hospital Storage. Dial it on the phone in reception.
2. 2Take the Medical Intubation Kit from a shelf in the Victoria Ward basement storage room, through the gap in the lockers.
3. 3Intubate: find the points where the view flashes red and hold R2/RT at each one, in this order: right side, lower left, top.

Why mistakes matter here

A wrong monitor reading costs health, and each mistake in this surgery also costs 3 points toward the ending score. That score decides between the Justice, Forever and Abandoned endings, so a careless guess here can push you off the ending you are aiming for.

Chapter 7 is also half of the trophy Save It For The Patients: use no healing items in either of Zoe's chapters.

The X-ray room as Simon

In Chapter 8, Many Into One, Simon returns to the hospital's Otherworld version. Open the Surgery door with 7103 again, squeeze through the crack and crouch through the vent. Strange Postcard 7 is on the back counter of this X-ray room, and it is the postcard players most often miss, because they search Zoe's version in Chapter 7 instead.
